About Us
Welcome to AfterTheyHatch.com, the opposite of unsolicited advice!
In a world full of pressure for parents, AfterTheyHatch.com is a supportive environment for parents looking for advice, tips, endorsements, and suggestions from other parents.
Worldwide Community
With 21st century families spread across continents or even around the world, parents turn to the internet to find answers to their questions. AfterTheyHatch.com provides a place for mothers and fathers to seek help in a positive and trustworthy environment. You ask; the world answers.
Or maybe you've been there -- one too many sleepless nights, the baby was crying again, and dinner was still in a far-off universe. How did you do it? What worked and what didn't? This is what we'll aim to answer, with your help.
So go ahead! Ask us your toughest questions. Share your best parenting secrets! See something you agree with? Tell everyone. Let's work together to build a powerful and useful database of the most relevant information -- a parenting compendium FOR today's parents, BY today's parents.
Advertising
A quick word about advertising... AfterTheyHatch.com provides a promotion-free refuge. Ads are not visible to members who are logged-in, and paid product placement in the question and answer fields of the site will never be tolerated. The site does display ads when there is no user logged-in, to help off-set the cost of hosting.
Safety First
ALWAYS REMEMBER! The internet, including AfterTheyHatch.com, is a public space. Anything you post here is visible to the world at large, including people who arrive here from a random search. NEVER post anything on AfterTheyHatch.com (or anywhere else on the internet) that you wouldn't want a stranger to know about you or your kids... information like full names, the schools they attend, your exact location, etc., should be kept private.
A Little History
And a note on the founders: AfterTheyHatch.com is the third and most inquisitive child of husband and wife web-development team Marc and Kate Colello. Parents of two actual, human children, the Colellos sought a website for hive-minded advice, administered constructively and without criticism, when they encountered the trials of parenting. With nowhere quite right to go, they founded AfterTheyHatch.com in the late summer of 2007, as the heat bore down on them and they could not get their oldest to complete potty training, no matter how hard they tried.
